We continued on the run and then we were coming up on a couple with a Golden Retriever mix that was on a retractable lead. The dog was behind them sniffing the ground and they were sill walking along letting the retractable lead keep extending. What they didn't know was the dog looked up and saw us and started aggressively running at us. The lead ran out and jerked out of the woman's hand and I quickly put myself between the approaching dog and Addison, stood my ground, and grabbed the aggressive dog's leash. Luckily the dog was focused on Addison and not me or I may have gotten bit. The woman apologized and I told her not to worry about it although I felt they were irresponsible with their dog. I was happy that Addison stayed calm the entire time and I also didn't panic with the dog charging. The experience just increased my dislike of retractable leashes though. I feel that when retractable leashes are used the owner doesn't pay attention or have control of their dog and at the same time they may not be able to stop their dog before it's too late.
When we got back home I let Addison sniff around outside in case she had to pee again but she didn't go. Then I took her in to eat. She is getting good at laying down before I feed her since I require it before I put her food down. She started to eat and drink for a bit and then started walking around the house like she wanted to pee. Then she squatted and I clapped which made her jump up and then I quickly put her on the lead and took her out. The problem is that she kept sniffing but would not pee.
