This evening I took Addison to All Dogs in College Park because I am going to CT for the week for Thanksgiving. Homeward Trails found someone to foster her while I'm away and they will pick her up from All Dogs tomorrow.
I was getting her things together and packing up the crate and while I was walking out the door with the crate Addison came blitzing by me and into the woods near my house. I quickly put down the crate and was calling her. I could see her white coat in the woods and she was going to the bathroom but she wasn't close enough for me to grab her. She then took off deeper into the woods and I ran into the house to get a flashlight, leash, and a training collar I could rattle to get her attention. I kept calling her and could hear her running around. Luckily I have been working on "come" with her and suddenly I heard her running toward me. When she came up to me I quickly put the leash on her and gave her tons of praise. Whew.
After that it was a drive All Dogs and goodbye for the moment.
